Here are games I both have and have not played- but watched, that I think are really cool.

There are gonna be flashing lights and otherwise disturbing content since I like a lot of fucked up lookin' games. SO yeah, proceed with caution.

Oh also most of the summaries are copy pasted from a wiki from the game in question or wikipedia.

LSD DREAM EMULATOR

Summary:
LSD: Dream Emulator is a 1998 exploration game by Asmik Ace Entertainment, released for the PlayStation. In LSD, the player explores surreal environments without any objective. If they touch anything in the environment, such as walls, creatures or objects, they will be warped to another setting. The game was conceived by Japanese artist Osamu Sato, who rejected the idea of games, and wanted to use the PlayStation as a medium for creating contemporary art. The game's concept is based on a dream diary kept by an Asmik Ace employee for over a decade.
Thoughts:
I love absurdist random shit so much... things i cant comprehend are my favoriate ever and this is such a weird ass experince.... I lov...

No, i'm not a human

Summary:
An intimate story about a disaster and guests from underground. People are breaking into your home, but not all of them are true people.
Thoughts:
There is soo much to say about this game genuinely. Between the vibes of the enviornment, the pixelated but still weirdly uncanncy visuals, the religious parallels as well as direct parallels to the pandemic... everything about this game I love and im hyperfixated on it in bursts of random energy like crazy. I cant wait for the full thing.

antumbra

Summary:
Antumbra is a very odd game. It's creepy, scary, horror and incredibly hard. So hard, that you can and should expect to die dozens of times.
Thoughts:
This game dev seems to have had an uphill struggle to make another game, he made this one to vent, and then just... couldnt make another. too many different circumstances and lost passion. So now antumbra is the only look into this weird guys mind and im glad we even got it to begin with. Same deal as lsdDE, its so incomprehensible, so raw stright from some dudes mind onto a screen. I love it.

dead plate

Summary:
Dead Plate is a short 2D restaurant tycoon themed rpg horror game with visual novel and point-and-click elements set in 1960s France following the story of a lively waiter named Rody trying to make as much money as possible in a week at a fancy bistro owned by a charismatic and successful chef, Vince.
Thoughts:
my first game i saw from racheldraws. My favorite, its short, sweet and gets to the point. It does what it wants to do without any extra fluff or anything too open ended. Im not shocked that it blew up. Between the homoerotic subtext of the act of cannibalism, combined with the character back and forths with a humurous dynamic... i mean get real this shit slaps. I /would/ ask for more, but honestly... its better as is. gimme plush...

married in red

Summary:
Married in Red is a short 2D RPG thriller-story game with visual novel and point-and-click elements set in South Korea that follows the story of Bok-su Go visiting her old friend from University, Da-jeong Choi, on her wedding day.
Thoughts:
Another banger. for some reason this one seems more... cinematic to me? not really sure why. It starts off a little strange in my opinion, but that may be by inability to suspend my disbelif for a moment to get the ball rolling. ONce that ball starts moving its pretty damn good. This has all the elemnts i like about dead plate, short- sweet- to the point. It hits hard for the times it has to, and doesnt drag it out.

rot in paradise

Summary:
Rot in Paradise is a short 2D horror visual novel set in October of Australia, following the story of a vacationist named June and her friends on a weekend getaway at an island resort where they have no choice but to go with the tides
Thoughts:
this was another good one, but i will say- a little less so than the others. imo, it was *too* open ended. I felt like it ended too early without proper closure or understanding of what was even happening. Now thats not the fault of the concept, people drinking water like theyre addicted to it is a solid fuckin concept, like fr. I do think it does the parallel to losing your friends to addictions very well. But i think it needed to focus a little more energy on the actual, tangible story it was trying to tell, since the metaphors are pretty much done.

elevator hitch

Summary:
Elevator Hitch is a short 2.5D surreal horror/escape room visual novel with point-and-click and puzzle elements following the story of two co-workers suddenly finding themselves stuck together in a "Perfectly Normal" 70s office elevator. They must explore each liminal-looking floor and find a way to get off the elevator to their actual destinations.
Thoughts:
Solid, pretty good! its nothing too exceptional i think- at least with hindsight compared to her other stuff, but you could tell rachel has something shes cookin with here. The trapped in an elevator concept is solid as well! shes got a lot of good ideas, and a good knack for writing appealing characters.
